Fall at Hardin Ridge

I’m thinking about making a decoupage art piece with colorful fall leaves, so we went to collect them in Hardin Ridge National Park. The girls were looking forward to playing on the playground there near the beach. Unfortunately, we were told it was closed! Some lady in the camper claimed the whole recreational area to herself! Of course, my husband did not hesitate to inquire about it. It turned out that the “beach manager” is stationed there on duty. Understandably, the beach is closed – who would want to swim at this time of year, but I still don’t understand why we were kicked out from the playground! Obviously, the girls were very upset.

On the way out, at the park’s gate, we’ve noticed three chickens. Pecking around like nothing happened. Hmm, I wonder how they got there. Having four extra roosters myself and no luck finding them new homes, I can only imagine someone dropping them off. Poor birds, their days are counted.
